At the commencement of the Postgraduate Residential School for Semester 1 2026/2027 Academic Year, on 26th July 2026, Academic Unit and other officials in the University received a number of queries and complaints from selected programmes regarding the implementation of the scheduled residential school and planned online delivery mode.
The situation was reviewed, and we noted some causes, including incomplete communication where some admitted students whose programmes will be offered online did not receive information sent via email, while other students who reported for Residential School were fewer than the minimum recommended class size but did not receive communication on proposed alternatives for online learning.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and wish to guide that both ODL and online modes of learning will continue to be offered to meet the educational needs of students with varying circumstances. The two modes of study are offered depending on the nature of the study programmes and numbers of students. For the 2026/2027 Academic Year, the 1st Semester ODL Residential School for Postgraduate students is being held from 26th July to 7th August, 2026 while Online classes for postgraduate students will run from 31st August to 11th September, 2026.
